Reader's Theatre

This year Camelot wasn't able to have the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) to come and help out students perform live on stage. Because of this, Camelot's PTA and Mrs. Stedman will be organizing Camelot's Reader's Theatre, which will not be as formal as MCT, but will provide the same opportunity for students to perform. Camelot will have three stories to perform; THE RIDDLE MAKER SAVES THE DAY, DON'T FORGET ZERO, and THE NORTH WIND AND THE SUN. Auditions will be held right after school on January 20th in our gym. Approximately 40 to 60 students can participate, so not all students will be able to participate. Judges will decide the cast.

The following are the rules for the activity:
1. Students must have a permission slip filled out to audition. One is available at the office.
2. Students must be able to attend EVERY rehearsal and the performance.
3. The students must have some way of transportation home.
4. Students must provide most or all of their costume. PTA can help.
5. Have a positive attitude!

When students participate they will receive a "Camelot Knight Doin' Right" slip and if they make the mile they will get a bead and their name on the gym's wall. This year, for each can of food a participant donates they will receive a "Camelot Knight Doin' Right" slip. Family and friends are welcome to run on Friday morning with students at 8:43am sharp. Running will end when the bell rings.

PTA News!!
The Camelot PTA is going to be very busy over the next few months. We are gearing up for the school carnival "Carnival of Sports" which will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009. If anyone would like to volunteer for any part of the project, please contact any PTA board member.

We will be hosting the silent basket auction once again and asking the teachers to pick a theme for their classroom in order to start collecting items to assemble in the baskets. The notice to students' families will be sent out soon.

We are just finishing up the Valentine Basket Raffle sales and appreciate everyone's involvement. The top sales people are: primary-Kelsey Wilkins with 31 books from 3rd grade and secondary-Shane Sinclair with 14 books from 6th grade. Kelsey Wilkins is the top overall sales person selecting the Rocker Chair; therefore awarding the Razor Scooter to Shane Sinclair.

The playground equipment has been ordered and a requested delivery date of March 13, 2009 for inspection and assembly to begin on Friday, March 20, 2009. If anyone is available to help be a part of this exciting project, please let us know so that we can add your name to the list and organize the team!!!
The spring fundraiser will be cookie dough and Caesar pizza sales during the first couple weeks of March. More details will be available after the PTA meeting.

We still have a few shirts and sweatshirts in most sizes and a few embroidered bags and blankets for sale. They are in the school office in case you missed the order or just decided you needed one. Please hurry as the numbers are very limited.

Thanks--
Lynne Wilkins
PTA President

Start drawing!
